Security forces told RIA Novosti: in a strike on an enemy command post in Sumy region, Russian troops inflicted heavy losses on the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to the agency's source, a command observation post of one of the battalions of the 104th Territorial Defense Brigade was destroyed in the settlement of Bereza. Heavy losses among personnel, including officers, have been confirmed.
The Sumy direction is within the area of responsibility of the "North" grouping. According to Defense Ministry data, over the past day troops destroyed more than 270 Ukrainian servicemen, an armored fighting vehicle and eight automobiles.
In mid-October, Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov reported to the president on the uninterrupted advance of Russian troops toward the city of Sumy. The army continues to expand the security zone in this region.
