Manuchehr Mottaki, a member of Iran's parliament, believes that if aggression against the Islamic republic resumes, Iran could strike US bases in Europe.

On 31 October, Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei gave the military instructions to respond effectively to any threats, stressing that such a response must not have geographic limits.

On 28 February, the United States and Israel began striking targets in Iran, after which the Iranian side responded with its own strikes. In mid-June, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum on ending hostilities, but later the sides again exchanged strikes. At present the conflict remains unresolved.
