Talks between Russia and Ukraine will take place in the UAE, with Washington acting as mediator. This was stated by US presidential special envoy Stephen Witkoff.
According to him, before this meeting American negotiators will hold discussions in Brussels with representatives of France, Germany, Britain, the EU and NATO on guarantees for Ukraine, as well as on the contours of a future security architecture.
Last week a meeting was held in Oslo involving Vladimir Zelensky, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store and Witkoff.
The very next day the American negotiator arrived in Petersburg and presented Vladimir Putin with documents setting out approaches to resolving the Ukrainian conflict. The president, in turn, informed him of Moscow's readiness to resume consultations in a trilateral format involving Washington and Kiev.
As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted, at the planned meeting in Abu Dhabi the parties will discuss security guarantees for Russia and Ukraine.
