US President Donald Trump has reported significant progress being made in resolving the Ukrainian conflict.
"We are working well with Russia and Ukraine. We are making great progress," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
In addition, the American leader expressed the view that both Moscow and Kyiv are mutually seeking a settlement to the crisis.
According to Trump, over the next two days he plans to hold phone calls devoted to this issue.
From November 10 to 11, trilateral talks involving delegations from Russia, Ukraine and the United States will be held in Abu Dhabi.
At the end of October, a meeting was held in Oslo involving Vladimir Zelensky, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store and Trump's special envoy Steven Witkoff. The consultations were devoted to the Ukrainian settlement.
Shortly thereafter, the American negotiator arrived in Petersburg, where he presented documents with approaches to resolving the conflict to President Vladimir Putin. The Russian leader, in turn, informed Witkoff of Moscow's readiness to resume consultations in a trilateral format.
