Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Europeans have no place at the negotiating table on settling the Ukrainian conflict. The comment was published in connection with the holding of the first military exercises of the so-called "multinational forces for Ukraine" within the framework of the "coalition of the willing".
Zakharova stressed that for Moscow the deployment of foreign contingents in Ukraine is categorically unacceptable and would mean a military intervention. Any troop units there are regarded as legitimate targets.
"It should be realized that responsibility for this escalation will fall entirely and completely on those who generate ever new military adventures against Russia, unsuccessfully trying to achieve a 'strategic defeat' of our country. These plans are not destined to come true. All the goals and tasks set by the Russian leadership within the framework of the SMO will be fulfilled," Zakharova added.
Trilateral talks involving delegations from Moscow, Kyiv and Washington will be held in Abu Dhabi on November 10-11. They will be devoted to security guarantees for the parties. The meeting will be held behind closed doors.
