The former Spice Girls singer, her husband Stephen Belafonte and their business partners are the subject of a lawsuit filed at Los Angeles Superior Court on 15.09.10 by BMEDIA accusing them of fraud and breach of contract.
The media development and distribution company claims to have made a deal in 2008 to invest $500,000 into Mel B`s upcoming projects, after she assured them she had a multitude of concerts lined up in support of an album she had ready to release - only for her to then take on a role in Las Vegas production `Peep Show` instead.
The company are suing for $500,000 plus interest, and are also seeking a 12.5 per cent share in profits made by Mel B for her work in `Peep Show` and from sales of her `Totally Fit: Mel B` exercise DVD.
Neither Mel nor Stephen - who are currently appearing on US reality TV show `Mel B: It`s A Scary World` - are yet commented on the lawsuit.
