JENNIFER Grey broke down in tears during her Dancing With The Stars debut as she remembered her pal Patrick Swayze. The Dirty Dancing star sobbed after finding out she would be performing to a song from the iconic 1980s film with her partner Derek Hough on the U.S. version of Strictly Come Dancing. In pre-recorded footage of rehearsals which aired on the show in America last night, Derek told her they would dance the Viennese Waltz to Otis Reading`s These Arms of Mine. On hearing the news Jennifer, 50, walked out of the room and began weeping about Patrick, who died a year ago of pancreatic cancer. After composing herself, she told Derek - a close friend of Cheryl Cole`s - how hearing the track again brought back memories. Jennifer, who played Baby in the 1987 movie, said: "It took me back in a time capsule, and I was with Patrick. I just missed him. "He was like you, young and gorgeous." In last night`s show the actress took to the stage in a floaty blue dress and got the highest score of the night, with 24 out of 30. Judge Bruno Tonioli lavished praise on her, gushing: "Baby is back where she belongs. I know somebody up there is going to be very proud of you." Meanwhile, David Hasselhoff bombed in his dance debut, scoring just 15 points for his Cha Cha Cha with Kym Johnson. He`d earlier played up to the cameras by lifting the blonde up on the red carpet. Other celebs in the series include Audrina Patridge, Jersey Shore`s Mike `The Situation` Sorrentino, Brandy and Sarah Palin`s daughter Bristol.
