Avril Lavigne is "old-fashioned"

The 26-year-old singer - who has been dating reality TV star Brody Jenner since February - revealed she goes for traditional guys who are prepared to open doors and buy flowers for her.

She explained: "I like a classy man, a gentleman who opens the door and gives flowers and always puts the lady first. I`m a little old-fashioned like that."

The punk princess - who divorced Sum 41 rocker Deryck Whibley last October - admitted she doesn`t like wild nights out on the town, and prefers to stay in rather than hang out with people who are into the "Hollywood scene".

She added to Maxim magazine: "The only time I really ever get photographed is if I decide to go out with my friends to a bar or club, so it kind of looks like I do that more than I do. The majority of the time I stay in.

"I got here on my own. I came from a small town and grew up in a regular home. I know what I`ve worked hard for. I`ve seen a lot of people who have gone a little crazy and who are really into the Hollywood scene. I don`t really like to hang out with people like that."
