VLADIVOSTOK, November 3 - An international U.N. style conference has begun its work at the Far Eastern State University (FESU) in Vladivostok on Thursday. Representatives of 16 universities from six cities of the Far East and student delegations from Norway take part in the conference. As Itar-Tass learnt at the FESU press centre, during three days, students are to "defend" their country’s official policy, hold talks, using all acquired habits of diplomacy and professionalism, and adopt general decisions on topical international problems. During debates due to be held in English, the conference participants will discuss issues which are considered at the United Nations at present: peace and security, the U.N. financial crisis, disarmament, and territorial disputes. One of this conference’s innovation ideas will be the holding of a video-session with international partners, as well as organization of seminars-trainings on leadership, management and marketing. The teams which, according to the results of the conference, will gain the largest amount of points will continue to defend the honour of the Russian Federation at U.N. style international conferences abroad.
