Moscow bumps up snow-clearing budget after heavy falls
The Moscow authorities said on Wednesday an additional 4 million rubles ($136.59 million) has been set aside to clear the roads and pavements of the Russian capital following heavy snowfalls.

The Moscow authorities said on Wednesday an additional 4 million rubles ($136.59 million) has been set aside to clear the roads and pavements of the Russian capital following heavy snowfalls.
Snowfalls in the past two weeks alone have exceeded the annual average for February and the city government says it is clearing around 300 thousand cubic meters of snow a day during heavy snowfall.
"Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin signed a decree to allocate around 3.976 billion rubles to the budget to finance the costs of abnormal weather conditions this winter," a source in the mayor`s office told RIA Novosti.
The source said the money would be allocated from a reserve housing and utilities fund.
