GLUSK (Belarus), November 5 - Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Friday he would not alter his policy in case of the election for the third term of office. "I will do what I have been doing for the past decade. If people like it, it’s all right, if not - let them choose another candidate," he told residents of the town of Glusk on Friday. "If another man is elected, I wish he would hold a policy for people’s sake," Lukashenko said. "It is not a matter of my victory or defeat in the elections. I know you will elect me. People will not make a mistake if they are not under pressure," Lukashenko said. Belarus "has gotten out of such a mess within the past decade," the president said. Naturally, the country still has many problems but "it has never borrowed a kopeck, has done its work unaided, and owes nothing," he said. "Those who are now seeking power, guzzled away everything in the past. We had nothing left after the disintegration of the former Soviet Union. For instance, Belarus gained nothing for nuclear weapons withdrawn from its territory," he said.
