This technique can be extremely useful in development of methods for medicine transfer to diseased cancer cells. Substance must interact effectively with peptides on cell surface. But this interaction usually was investigated by indirect methods such as computer cell`s models and by effectiveness of impact on real alive organisms. Scientists used atomic force microscope to conduct direct measurements of molecular interaction. They attached several fragments of antibodies to probe of microscope. Probe was brought to surface covered by peptide MUC1, various forms of which are typical markers of cancer, therefore they present on surface of diseased cells.
