The 41-year-old singer and husband Nick Cannon welcomed twins Moroccan Scott and Monroe into the world on April 30 and the `Hero` hitmaker found carrying the babies was "uncomfortable".
She said: "February was bleak for me. I was so uncomfortable.
"Being pregnant with twins is different than anything. They were always saying to me, `Oh but it`s so worth it,` and I`m like, `Yeah, that`s easy for you to say when you`re not the one whose feet are so big.` It turned into a really difficult time.
"Because my body went through so much holding those twins in; you have to keep them in as long as possible because it`s a sacrifice that you make for them, and so literally I was like 47 weeks pregnant."
As well as struggling during her pregnancy, Mariah also revealed she has had to alter some aspects of her regular beauty regime for her children.
She explained: "I cut my nails really short for the babies."
The star was speaking during an appearance on US TV shopping channel HSN to promote her jewellery line - and advised prospective fathers to consider purchasing her products to thank their partners for carrying their children.
She said: "Anybody pregnant right now, there`s push gifts here. Tell your baby father."
Adele has credited Amy Winehouse for "paving the way" for her success.
The Grammy-award winning British singer praised the effortless talents of the tragic star - who was found dead at her London home on Saturday (23.07.11) at the age of 27 - and thinks the `Back to Black` hitmaker revitalised the UK music scene.
She wrote on her blog: "Not many people have it in them to do something they love, simply because they love it. With no fuss and no compromise. but she knew what she was capable of and didn`t even need to try.
"If she wanted to do something she would and if she didn`t she`d say f**k off. It came easy to her and that`s why we all loved her so much. We believed every word she wrote, and it would sink in deep when she sang them.
"Amy paved the way for artists like me and made people excited about British music again whilst being fearlessly hilarious and blase about the whole thing. I don`t think she ever realised just how brilliant she was and how important she is, but that just makes her even more charming."
While Adele admitted she is "incredibly sad" about Amy`s death, she also spoke of how "grateful" and "proud" she feels towards the late star.
She added: "Although I`m incredibly sad about Amy passing I`m also reminded of how immensely proud of her I am as well. and grateful to be inspired by her. Amy flies in paradise."
