The `Carless Whisper` hitmaker has been undergoing narcotics counselling for his cannabis use, and as a result has stopped eating junk food and has lost the large amount of weight.
He said: "I`ve been in counselling for substance abuse for nearly 10 months, and part of the advantage of that is I`ve dropped about 14 or 15lbs. All my old clothes fit me.
"I wouldn`t say I`m looking in the mirror but it`s definitely one of the advantages of being cleaner."
Speaking at the opening night of his `Symphonica` tour at the Prague State Opera House in the Czech Republic, the 48-year-old singer also discussed his time in prison - where he spent four weeks last year for driving while under the influence of drugs into a photography shop in north London - claiming it was a "logical experience" because of where he had got in his life.
He said: "I felt I had a bill to pay and I thought that prison was a logical conclusion to a very dark chapter.
"I wouldn`t say it was a good experience, but it was a logical experience."
However, being in jail did result in George starting smoking cigarettes again, something he is now trying to give up.
He explained: "Of course, within a week, because there was barely anything else to do in there, I was back hooked on the nicotine.
"Now I`m trying not to smoke cigarettes - what I`ve found is tweeting gives me something to do."
