The `Lucky Day` singer believes she is a "true friend" to her Girls Aloud bandmate because she wasn`t afraid to help her pal out when disaster struck on a night out. She said: "Cheryl dropped her phone down the toilet once and I had to get it out for her. "We`d gone to the loo together and the next thing I heard was, `Nicola!` And I thought, `Bloody hell`, so I went in there and got it out for her. Now that`s true friendship for you." As well as her bandmates, Nicola is very close to her two dogs but says she has different relationships with each. She told more! magazine: "I love having pictures of me and the dogs. When I`m away, I can look at them and fawn over them. "I miss them terribly. They`ve got little personalities. Like, one of them things he`s my boyfriend and one thinks he`s my son. We`ve got that going on."
