A large-scaled cutting down of officer`s staff is coming up in Russian army. As Russian minister of Defense Sergey Ivanov declared today, 35 thousands of officers will be fired from Armed forces within 5 years. By his words number of staff in army and Navy is 1 million 134 thousands and 800 people. "By January 2011 it must amount to 1 million 1000 thousands of servicemen. Cutting down of unmilitary officers will be due to abolishment of military departments in civil institutes", - said minister. He also noted that it is planned to cut down 300 positions of high command staff. As a result the amount of generals and admirals in army will not exceed 1100 people. This is the optimized proportion: 1 general for 1 thousand of servicemen. Moreover, Russian army continues change to contract method of troops` organization. In future 20 more military units with overall strength of 31 thousands men will be staffed. Minister also paid attention on high level of criminal among officers: officer commit every 7-th registered crime. By his words, the amount of anti-right actions from side of senior officers increased by 1/3 comparing with last year.
