The `Stronger` singer has been dogged by rumours about her sexuality but insists that if she was gay, she would just come out and say it.
She said: "I`m not gay. If I was, I`d say: `I love women!` That`s why it drives me nuts. But I feel like even if I did say it, people would be like, `you`re just trying to do that to win the gay audience`."
Kelly, 29, admits she is confused by the public`s obsession with her love life, but says she enjoys being a single lady.
She told Now Magazine: "People are really concerned about my relationship status. "When I tell people I`m happy being single, they don`t believe me. They say: `You have to be miserable being alone`."
The former `American Idol` winner previously admitted she has never been in love, but believes all that will change when she meets the right man.
She told USA Today: "I`ve never been in love. I`ve never experienced certain things, and I think that`s because I have this side of me that is shut off. Because I haven`t found anybody yet to open to that I feel like, `OK, you`re worth breaking down that wall for`. I`ve never found that."
