Russian national hockey team has lost the second match in Finland on the second round of European tournament - Karjala cup. Vladimir Krikunov’s team yielded to the leader Sweden national team in the second round match during overtime with score 2:3. That defeat did not have an influence upon Russian team’s place - it is still the second on the list. There was a sticky struggle on the playground during first period with large number of sending off the field. Russian team managed to shoot ahead in the second period. Russian hockey players increased the advantage. Andrei Taratukhin scored a goal five minutes before the final siren. But after a minute Biorn Melin was able to win back one goal. He was in the area of Sergey Zvyagin’s goal but Finnish referee Partanen has credited scoring. After another minute score became equal. Magnus Kanberg struck an irresistible hurl. So, the scenario of the match with Finnish team was repeated. Russian team was leader until five minutes before the final siren. Score of the game was 2:0. Then Russian players were missed two goals and met a defeat after penalties. There will be a match between Finland and Czech Republic later. Sweden - 15 points; Russia - 8 points; Finland - 3 points; Czech Republic - 2 points.
