PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, November 17 - Avachinsky volcano, located about 25 kilometers away from the regional capital Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is showing mounting activity. The day before, that activity has grown above the normal background levels, but experts say there is no danger to people in nearby population centers. Specialists permanently watch the condition of the region’s 29 active volcanoes. As they informed weak tremors happened on Avachinsky over the past 30 days. Experts also say the magnitude of those quakes alternates all the time. As a reminder, Avachinsky volcano`s previous massive eruption occurred in the winter of 1991, where people in Petropavlovsk could see from the streets the streams of red-hot lava flowing out of its crater.
