European Committee approved purchase of "Sibneft" control share holding by "Gasprom". Officials from Europe considered that this deal doesn`t contradict interests of European market. Deal is regulated by Europran Union Regulations of merging because circulation of both companies at markets exceeds 5 milliards of euros. Moreover, "Gasprom" imports 24% of gas to European Union. The deal was examined by European anti-monopolistic organizations according to simplified scheme. In this case approval is automatically given within a month from a moment of applying if there are no objections from third side. Deadline for examination of that deal was November 22. By this moment European committee should approve deal or start its detailed investigation. At the end of October "Gasprom" declared about purchase of 72.7% of "Sibneft" stocks with help of its subsidiary Gazprom Finance B.V. Cost of deal amounts to $13.09 milliards.
