Europe needs more Russian gas
Gas pipeline, which will be supposedly conducted through Baltic sea bottom, is important for relationships Russia-European Union, declared premier-minister of Finland Matti Vanhanen during his visit to Estonia.

"Soon Europe will need increase of Russian gas export", - declared premier-minister.
Besides Finnish premier announced that Finland doesn`t have detailed information about construction of North-European gas pipeline, and government hasn`t made a decision yet whether it participates in project at any its stage or not. Vanhanen appealed to detailed estimate of influence on environment, which the project can do, in order to be sure in its ecological purity.
Vanhanen also declared that Finland intends to assist solving of frontier question between Estonia and Russia during chairmanship in EU. "It is in our interest to ratify agreement about frontier", - noted the head of Finnish government.
It should be mentioned that gas pipeline will start its exploitation from 2010. At first stage a construction of one line with capacity of 27.5 milliards of cubic meters of gas per year is planned. Total investments necessary for realization of project are 4 milliards of euros.
