Quarantine is put to 3 regions of Crimea (Jankoisky, Soviet and Nizhnegorsky), where mass bird plague is registered. Poultry will be completely annihilated in these regions. As Ukrainian state department of veterinarian medicine informed, total slaughter of poultry will be organized in settlements where highly pathogenic bird flu has been diagnosed. It was noted in department that people, who contacted with diseased bird, are under constant medical control. Meeting of state emergency anti-epizootic committee under Cabinet of Ministry will be called today. As it was announced, in 2 Crimean regions - Soviet and Nizhnegorsky - virus of "bird flu" of H5 type was registered. Materials will be sent for investigation and confirmation of diagnose to laboratory in England and in Italy. Almost 1.5 thousands of chickens, geese, ducks and turkeys died in Soviet, Nizhnegorsky settlements on December 2. The head of veterinarian administration Maria Miroshnechenko noted that 80-90% of poultry at infected poultry-yards died during one night. "Cases of bird flu were not registered in Crimea before. For 2 days situation became so complicated that we had to take appropriate measures", - she said. Since December 3, a ban on poultry sale is put at all markets of Crimea. Farmers are recommended not to let birds out from the yard. Minister of agricultural politics Alexander Baranovsliy visited Crimea and formed crisis group of experts, which work in autonomous region. Meanwhile, ban doesn`t refer to production of large poultry industries in the region. Crimean veterinarians consider that situation at battery farms is favorable, because security measures are fulfilled.
