A contract with Iran contract for the delivery of Russian armaments has defensive nature and meets all international obligations. An official representative of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mikhail Kamynin informed about that. The department of information and press of Russian Foreign Ministry extended his statement today. M. Kamynin noticed "all contracts that are made on the field of military-technical cooperation agree with international obligations including sphere of non-proliferation as well as agree with Russian legislation". The representative from Foreign Ministry noticed "all that concerns the contract with Iran as well, the case in point is only defensive armaments". It was reported earlier that the packet of contracts was signed in the end of November concerning delivery for Iran Russian weapons and military equipment to the sum of $700 m. It is intended to deliver up to 30 anti-aircraft rockets of Top-M1 system during the period 2006-2008.
