61% of electors participated in Kazakhstan presidential election by 16:00 (13:00 by local time).
This was informed by secretary of Kazakhstan Central Election committee in Astana Vladimir Foss. By his words, attendance of electors is the highest in Alma-Ata and Western Kazakhstan oblasts - 70% of registered electors participated in elections. Attendance of electors in 7 regions of republic exceeds 60%.
Representative of Kazakhstan Central Election Committee noted that attendance of current presidential election exceeds attendance parliament election of 2004 and presidential election of 1999.
As a reminder, 5 candidates pretend on leading position in the country - the current head of country Nursultan Nazarbaev, the leader of opposition "For fair Kazakhstan" Jarmakhan Tuyakbai, the chairman of ecological association "Tabigat" and the self-promoted candidate Mela Eleusizova, the delegate of lower Chamber of parliament (mazhalis) Erasyl Abylkasymov and the chairman of oppositional party "Ak zhol" Alikhan Baimenov.
Tentative results of election will be announced in first part of December 5. According to exit-polls it is known that leader is current president Nursultan Nazarbaev with 83% of votes.
