It was informed earlier that 8 people died in explosion. This information is not confirmed. At present moment 2 people are missing - there is a probability that they died in fire at Buncefield fuel depot.
Explosions were so powerful that were heard in radius more than 40 kilometers from place of accident. They took place with interval of 20 minutes 10 miles from Luton airport. Flames rose 100 meters above earth surface.
At present moment fire is localized, situation is under control. Area near Hemel Hempstead is in smoke, 300 citizens are temporary evacuated.
British authorities appeal to population not to panic or store fuel. They assure that there will be problems with fuel supply.
From its turn police and fire fighting services demand citizens of Hemel Hempstead to stay home and not to open windows. Local residents testify that many houses were damaged as a result of explosion.
Administration of Luton airport reported that explosions didn`t effect schedule of flights in airport. Flights are on time. But because of intensive smoke highway M1 from London to Luton airport was closed near place of accident. Administration of airport advises passengers, departing from Luton airport today, to search other routes to airport.
