Ukraine raise no rent for the Russian Black Sea Fleet
Ukraine is going to be consistent with its obligation towards the Russian Black Sea Fleet sojourn on the Ukrainian territory, informed the chief of Ministry of Foreign Affairs press-cutting service Vasiliy Filipchuk. "If proceed from the normal course of relationship between Ukraine and its partners, we are going to keep to the existing terms of bilateral treaty," noted the press-cutting service chief.

According to him, Ukrainian side in positive way estimated statements of Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Ivanov concerning breaking up with the practice to sublease separate Black sea fleet objects by March 1, 2006.
At the same time, during the Ukrainian -Russian consultations held in Kiev representatives of Ukrainian Ministry of Defense paid special attention to the fact of non-observance of several basic agreements terms.
"In particular it concerns the need to settle down the problems of transferring devices for navigational and hydrographic support, bringing leasing terms to correspondence with the Ukrainian legislation, observance of legislation in the field of environment protection by Russian fleet, as well as effective monitoring of the Black sea fleet armament", said Filipchuk.
Last week, the deputy of the chief of President of Ukraine Secretariat Anatoly Matvienko declared, that if Russia raised prices of gas up to the European level, Kiev would have the right to raise the rent for using the base in Sevastopol.
