For 11 months of year 2005 about 4378 kilograms of gold have been mined. This is 125 kilograms more comparing with the same period of 2004, informed press-service of regional government. "There is a possibility that current results of gold mining will exceed characteristics of last year. In 2004 4447 kilograms of gold were mined in Chukotka", - noted in press-service. The largest portion of precious metal has been mined in Chaunsky region (1966 kilograms) and Shmidtovsky region (1635 kilograms). 22 prospecting workmen`s cooperative association ran gold mining in 2005.
