Main Christmas fir-tree of Russia is sent to Moscow from Veliky Ustug. This was informed by press-secretary of the Velikoustugsky district head Elena Zelenina. "At 10 a.m. solemn seeing-off with main fir-tree of the country took place on central square of Veliky Ustug. Fairy-tale heroes and skomorokhs participated in the show. The head of Velikoustugsky district Vitaly Filimonov handed snowmen, who will accompany "green beauty", road credentials. At noon New Year fir-tree will arrive to ancestral lands of Grandfather Frost. There children TV program "Goof night, kids" will be shot, and theatre performance, devoted to greeting and seeing-off green beauty will take place", - explained Zelenina. On Saturday night fir-tree will be delivered to Vologda, on Monday morning it will arrive to Yaroslavl and in the evening - to Moscow. Fresh fir-tree will be placed on Cathedral square in Kremlin for the first time after 4-year break. The search for 32-meter fir-tree lasted for several weeks and was crowned with success. The length of some branches reaches 6 meters "Green beauty" will be delivered by special train. Experts of capital firm were packing the tree for several days to preserve branches and needles. Fir-tree was covered by special warm material.
