Most polluted waters of Sungari river approach Amur, informed deputy of environmental monitoring head Song Nanzhe from Heipuntszyan province. As ecological observer from Russian side Irina Nikitina informed, concentration of nitrobenzene compounds near Tuntszyan town is sufficiently high. By her words, at 8:00 a.m. nitrobenzene concentration was 0.16 mg/l, which is exceeds maximum allowable norm by 9.41 times. By 10 a.m. this characteristics amounted to 0.156 mg/l. Increase of maximum allowable benzene concentration has not been revealed. Nikitina mentioned that Chinese norms of nitrobenzene contents in drinking water are more strict than Russian. By her words, maximum allowable concentration of nitrobenzene in drinking water in Russia amounts to 0.3 mg/l. Supposedly, toxic spot will pass Tuntszyan in 6-8 days. Water tests at Sungari river are taken every 2 hours by Russian and Chinese ecologists. There are 6 points of mutual water quality monitoring. "As spot moves over Sungari and Amur these points start operation", - said Song Nanzhe.
