As a result of gas explosion, part of gas pipeline Parabel-Kuzbass, owned by "Tomsktransgas" company, was damaged. As chairman of Committee over civic defense affairs and emergency situations of Tomskaya regional administration Victor Locshinkov informed, accident took place about 02:00 a.m. by local time at 282-th km of pipeline near Kargala settlement in Shigarsky district. Accident was accompanied with powerful flash and fire ball. "After automatic closure of gate valve, the fuel continued to burn down for several hours, until 05:00 a.m. The explosion had damaged the main pipeline, but gas supply was partly restored through reserve line", - noted the source. The crash caused partial disconnection from gas supply of more than 10 housing and communal services` objects in Tomskaya oblast. In Shigarsky and Kozhevnikovsky districts local boiler-houses were transferred to reserve kinds of fuel (mazut and coal). At present moment emergency service of "Tomsktransgas" started damage control at destroyed part of gas pipeline. By tentative data, accident is considered as man-caused incident. There are no victims.
