Yekhanurov comes to Moscow for gas talks
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yury Yekhanurov arrived in Moscow on talks concerning power supply. The question of gas supply is to be discussed at the meeting between Yury Yekhanurov and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov. Gazprom representatives has already declared that the price of gas will not be fixed in 2006. The price formula for future supplies is to correspond to the similar European price formulas. Thus, price of gas for Ukraine will depend on price of oil and oil products at European markets. Gazprom officials notes, that this type of price formation is an absolutely transparent mechanism, independent of initiatives and offers of the gas company.

According to the formula the gas price for Ukrainian consumers will constitute $220-230/1000 m3 on January 1, 2005.
The monopolist representatives also added that the question of gas-transport consortium creation for managing Ukrainian gas-transport network is still relevant. They reminded that there was no progress about it during last years.
Earlier Ukraine purchased Russian gas at the price of $50/1000 m3, while European countries paid $160. In the course of 9 month talks Russian party suggested Ukraine purchasing gas at the price of $160, later the price increased up to $220-230/1000 m3.
