Police to conduct operation "Fir" in Moscow

As capital Department of nature management and environmental protection informed, the start of operation concur with opening of official fir markets in town.
During operative spot-checks officials of ecologic police will check if places of trade with conifers correspond to demands of trade organization, such as presence of fence, cash register, price-lists and fire-extinguishing means.
In case of unauthorized trade, infringers will be fined.
There will be about 300 fir markets in Moscow - by 10 trade points in every administrative district of the capital. Retail price for meter of fir will be 160 rubles.
As a reminder, 509 violations were revealed during operation "Fir-2004" last year. 4 of them - by fact of illegal felling, 10 cases refer to illegal import of firs and 117 - breaking of market organization and fir sale rules. Policemen drew up about 1100 administrative reports for total penalties of about 340 thousands rubles. Special operation lasted from December 20, 2004 till January 15, 2005 with participation of 36 thousands policemen.
