3000 people have stayed without water in Habarovsk. As Far East regional center of Emergency Ministry informed, drinking water supply was cut off in south part of Habarovsk (water-supply point - Krasnaya Rechka) in the evening of December 20. It was announced that water cut carries technological character and is not connected with chemical pollution of Amur river. Meanwhile, by data of regional center of Emergency Ministry, city water-supplying company "Vodocanal" has started water refinement with activated coal. City water meets the standards. Front edge of polluted zone in Amur is about 30 km from Habarovsk. In the view that zone of pollution has passed 250 km from the confluence of the Sungari and the Amur tivers, sufficient dilution of polluted waters took place. Front edge of polluted waters with nitrobenzene concentration less than 0.002 mg/liter, which corresponds to 0.025 of maximum allowable concentration, will reach Habarovsk on December 21 by 22:00 (15:00 by Moscow time). Pollution of Amur occurred as a result of crash at chemical plant in China on November 13, when about 100 tons of benzene compounds have got into Sungari river.
