Dome concrete system - is a rare architectural forms. This is easily explained, because to build such a structure is quite difficult. They require a sophisticated support system, which would be held in concrete form as appropriate, before the time, until it hardens. Researchers from the Vienna scientific-technical Institute proposed a system that will not implore expensive supports and difficult technical implementation.
This method can be called a method of pneumatic wedge. Pre-construction site on top of a flat plastic airbag uploaded form of reinforcement. Then they poured the concrete, it hardens and eventually goes a series of flat plates. Concrete slabs then joined using iron wire and iron beams, lead "п▓п╣я│я┌п╦.Ru details of the method. Next domed airbag inflates. Upon filling it with air plate upwards, forming a dome. Together with this rope is tightened and holds concrete slabs together. All the plates are wedge edge, which allow them to securely connect with others.
In the future, the air is pumped from a pillow, and she removed together with beams and a rope. Remains reliable concrete dome system. However bending hardened concrete results are not too visible cracks. Researchers say that this is a purely cosmetic result, which does not affect the reliability patterns. In the next dome can be covered with plaster, hiding the flaws of the coating.
"If the form is correct, then each stove is on a private place, the system is sustainable," says the project coordinator Dr. Johann Kollegger. During testing of the system a concrete dome height of 2.9 meters was built over 2 hours. According Kollegger, this way you can build a system with the diameter of up to 50 meters. Among other things this system along with time-saving and materials have to lower cash cost of construction of similar systems by approximately 50%.
Not to mention the fact that, Austrian Railways has already ordered the erection of the cross, erected on the new technology. It is expected that in the future this system will be constructed a big variety of buildings in poor areas of the country - from underground tunnels to the concert halls.
