The creation of a common operator of the Ukrainian gas transportation system in combination with attachments of the United States and the EU will allow to direct all the planned volumes that are expected to spend on South stream"through Ukraine, because this is of interest to all the countries of the EU. Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk explained that in this way Ukraine will manage to increase its gas production. The construction of a new gas pipeline will lead to reduction of the volumes of gas supply from Russia to Europe through the Ukrainian transport system up to 40-50 billion cubic meters per year, declared the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk. According to him, this option is more satisfied with the European powers, rather than South stream. Additionally, the view was also expressed that already talked with possible investors on the topic and the project they are confirmed. Ukraine is ready to operate operator GTS together with the European or South American investors " he said, speaking in the Verkhovna Rada. Prime Minister proposed to the Parliament a draft law that allows the government to create the operator of the gas transportation system of power, in which up to 49% can get players from the United States and the EU. The document foresees that the operator will have the right to manage and/or concession or lease of main gas pipelines and underground storages. "We need to make a decision on modernization and joint operation of the Ukrainian gas transportation system. The government proposes to adopt a number of decisions, which will create new business model of the energy market," said Yatsenyuk. According to the statement of the Prime Minister, it will allow to modernize and invest in the Ukrainian GTS, to increase the capitalization of the gas transportation system. The Parliament of Ukraine from the third attempt has included the bill on the agenda. The Prime Minister asked the parliamentarians to take it even today in the first reading.
