Ukraine stole 1000 million tons of gas from the EU exports during January 1 on total cost of $25 million, declared Gazprom deputy board of directors chairman Alexander Medvedev.

"If Ukraine is going to go on intaking gas with the same tempo, it will cost us a really considerable sum", - noted he. Medvedev emphasized, that the Ukrainian Gas Transport System is fed only with Russian gas exports for the EU and "there is no Turkmen gas in the Ukrainian GTS ".
Moreover, Medvedev informed, that Gazprom invited independent international firm SGS, "which has a irreproachable reputation in the field of qualitative and quantitative estimation of foreign trade flows", in order to have independent documental confirmation of gas intakes. According to Gazprom deputy board of directors chairman, SGS has already started to work on Gazprom gas-measuring units for independent detection of gas entering Ukrainian GTS.
