Year of fiery red dog will be celebrated by cynologic festival, which will start on January 5 in Cheboksary. City administration informed that the goal of festival is popularization of dog-breeding, development of dog maintenance culture, formation of humane attitude toward animals. Dog-show will take place in hall of city sport complex "Spartak". Program of festival contains performances of dogs-champions, contest on best story about breed, contest of young handlers, demonstrative performances of trained dogs, contest of dogs-gluttons. Within the frames of festival results of children painting contest "My four-legged friend", of "Best dog owner-2006" and "Best dog-2006" contests, and of best costume contest "Stylish dog" will be proclaimed. Also winners of titles "Smallest dog", "Biggest dog" and "Most shaggy-haired dog" will be determined. During festival all veterinarian norms and rules will be controlled. By words of organizers of the show, if citizens like the festival it can become the annual one.
