Russian idols: Putin, Zhirinovsky and Pugacheva
Russians called their most popular compatriots to be President Vladimir Putin (21%), politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Emergency Minister Sergei Shoigu and singer Alla Pugacheva.

Such results showed poll, conducted by All-Russia Centre of public opinion study. 3% of the interviewed called among favourites the humorist Eugeny Petrosyan and Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov. However, about one third of the interviewed (38%) didn’t manage to name their favorite.
According to the poll data, Putin is a favourite of the interviewed of all ages (18-23%). Young people showed interest to Zhirinovsky: the share of respondents, who called his name, grows down from 11% among 18-24 year-olds to 1% among the group of over 60 year old.
Communists Party leader Gennady Zyuganov showed the highest percents of fans in the oldest group (5%).
When Russians were suggested naming their favorites not taking in account politicians, the rating topped Alla Pugacheva and Eugeny Petrosyan (7% and 5%), the third place took singer Nikolai Baskov and humorist Maxim Galkin (4% and 4%).
Last year the poll conducted by "Levada centre" also gave the first position to Vladimir Putin, beat Zhirinovsky and Shoigu. Women called their favorite St.Petersburg Governor Valentina Matvienko in 2004.
