China will spend $3.3 milliards on purification of Sungari river, which was poisoned by 100 tons of benzene and other toxic compounds after explosion at chemical plant on November 13. The funds will be granted within the frames of 5-year plan for 2006-2010. It is expected that about 1.4 milliard tons of polluted water in Interior Mongolia, Tsilin and Heiluntsyan provinces will be purified annually. According to plan, more than 90% of people, living near Sungari river, will be provided with safe drinking water by 2010.
