Last year`s winner of "Dakar", another racer of "KamAZ" team Firdaus Kabirov demonstrated 5-th result and lost 2 place in championship. On 11-th stage he was 33 minutes and 52 seconds behind Stacey, and now he loses 13 minutes to Dutch in total rating. The cause of unsuccessful performance of Kabirov became punctures of 2 tires.
As official site of "KamAZ-Master" informs, the main obstacle of this stage, from Kayos to Mali Capital Bamako became forests. Covered under thick crowns of trees numerous roads, narrow, with sudden turns, slopes and rises became traps for lorries.
Moreover, competition for majority of lorries was stopped by incident on 28-th kilometer of special route: German pilot Claus Leihner lost control of the car and his MAN fell on side across the road. Organizers of rally decided that all lorries ahead of Leihner will continue the struggle, and the rest will reach Bamako by high way, getting equal time of 5 hours.
