Planned on June 7 festive gala-performance with participation of numerous sport and world variety celebrities on Olympic stadium in Berlin will not take place. Organizers decided that damaged during the show grass on stadium arena will not be restored by first match of championship. For the first time organizers of world championsip-2006 planned to open sport holiday not with football match but with impressive gala-performance, staged by famous Austrian stage manager Andre Heller. Conception of gala-performance, demonstrated to representatives of FIFA yesterday, aroused doubts in possibilities of restoration of stadium grass cover by first game on June 13 between Brazil and Croatia. Experts suppose that grass will not grow till required height. Representatives of organization committee informed that details of new variant of championship opening ceremony will be declared later. There is a version that matter concerns not only possible damage of football pitch but high expenses of the project and low demand on tickets to gala-concert.
