Starting on Sunday, January 15, preferential procedures on import of automobile component parts for industrial assembling of foreign cars are introduced on territory of the country. According to decision of government, custom duties on import of automobile components reduces to 3-5% comparing with acting earlier 12-15% from customs value. At that several components, which have no analogues in Russia, are free of duties. According to idea of government, innovations should attract foreign investments to national automobile industry. In fact several large world concerns, including Toyota, Volkswagen and Fiat has already declared about intention to create mutual assembling plants in Russia. Temporary decreased rates on foreign automobile components for foreign cars were introduced in spring of 2005 for 9 months. Now this procedure is established on permanent base.
