Since January 20 Russia is to establish the final ban against all animal breeding production from Ukraine. The press-service of Ministry of Agriculture has reported the reason of the ban to become numerous Russian veterinary legislation violations at import of animal breeding production from Ukraine and absence of efficient control for supply, transport and processing of veterinary dangerous meat raw product on Ukrainian side. The press-service also noted, that in connection with defined flaws, a real threat of "appearance on the territory of Russia acutely infectious animal deceases and supplying unsound production, dangerous for human health" During 2004-2005 the cases of re-export of pork, produced in Poland, with cut off veterinary labels and accompanied with Ukrainian veterinary documents, were detected. In Rostov region the cases of meat, produced in Brazil, smuggling were detected. Territorial administrations of Federal Service for Agriculture Protection informed about numerous attempts of smuggling supply of meat produced in the USA, China, the Middle East countries, where the cases oа dangerous animal and bird deceases outbreaks had been detected. Earlier, Russian Ministry of Agriculture has banned the import of animal breeding production, conveyed as transit goods. Since January 1, 2006 limitation of all types of prepared raw meat products import has been banned. The ban is to be in force until the receipt of complete guarantees of Russian veterinary and sanitary requirements fulfillment and signing the protocol about veterinary control by Ukrainian veterinary service.
