Rescuers` snowmobiles struggle forward to column of trucks, which were captured in snow near Mutonovsky pass, 70 km from Petropavlovsk. This was informed by deputy chief of Head administration of Emergency Ministry over Kamchatka oblast Roman Baikalov. There are powerful snowfall, low visibility, high danger of avalanching in the region of accident. "Heavy equipment was left in Nadezhda settlement, where temporary camp was set up. Forces of rescuers increased - 2 more snowmobiles were sent to the pass", - said Baikalov. By his words, "there is no confidence that snowmobiles will reach the column of trucks and supply people with food. If meteorological conditions improve, helicopter will fly to the place of accident on Monday". "Ural" lorries stopped movement because of high snowdrifts and now wait for rescuers. There is enough fuel only for several hours of work. People have no food at all. Column of 14 "Ural" automobiles left construction object of ore mining and processing enterprise "Asacha" on January 17 and headed to Petropavlovsk. During snowstorm people lost the way near Mutonovsky pass. The movement of rescuer`s snowmobiles is complicated by snowfalls and snowdrifts with height of 5-6 meters.
