The power of explosive assemblies used for undermining of gas-main pipelines "North Caucasus-Transcaucasia" and "Mozdok- Tbilisi" comes to 700-800 grams in trinitrotoluol equivalent. This was informed by Russian general prosecutor deputy Nikolai Shepel. By fact of explosions at gas pipeline North Ossetin Office of Public Prosecutor instituted criminal proceedings according to article 167 of Russian criminal code (voluntary waste or destruction of property). Shepel has explained that this crime is classified as deliberate destruction of property and not as terrorist action because "fortunately, no one was hurt during explosion and there are no serious consequences for environment". Meanwhile, the sources informed that the main version of investigators is a subversive activity of extremist groups. President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvilli demanded to take measures for restoration of energy supplies to the republic. He called 2 explosions at gas-main pipeline as act of sabotage. "We categorically demand Russian administration to restore supplies of energy resources to Georgia at the earliest possible date and fulfill all obligations incumbent on Russian side", - appealed Saakashvili. Meanwhile Georgian International gas corporation started import of natural gas from Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani side started to increase pressure in pipeline uniting Georgia and Azerbaijan. It is expected that fuel import will start at 21:00 by Moscow time.
