Georgian president Mikhail Saakashvilli accused Russia of blackmail in the view of explosions at gas-main pipelines "North Caucasus-Trancaucasia" and "Mozdok-Tbilisi" in North Ossetia, which left Georgia and Armenia without Russian gas supplies and forced these countries to search for alternative energy sources. Georgian president called the incident "as serious act of sabotage" from Russian side. "We have heard threats of Russian officials that gas will be cut off, electric main will be out of action and our nation will freeze at winter frost, - said Saakashvili. - There were threats but we couldn`t believe that we will face with such uncivilized inhumane behavior". Damaged parts of gas pipeline will be repaired within 3-4 days. Office of Public Prosecutor develops the version of deliberate explosions. By different information there were 2 or 3 explosions at gas-main pipeline. Georgian vice-minister of fuel and energy Aleko Khetaguri said that there were 3 explosions at about 3.00-4.00 a.m. According to another source, 2 explosions took place at secondary branches of pipeline, and gas leak from the main pipeline started 20 minutes after.
