Europe is concerned of Russian gas supplies` shortage in the view of approaching frost. Poland, Italy, Hungary, Rumania and Bosnia declared about reduction of supplies.
Russian concern "Gazprom" accused Ukraine of disruption of supplies. As first vice-president of Gazprom Alexander Medvedev informed, Ukraine takes sufficiently more gas from transit pipeline than assigned in the contract. As a result Europe experiences gas shortage. "Ukrainian Naftogas" company admitted excess consumption of Russian gas in the view of severe frost in the republic. As representative of the company has announced, Ukraine will keep to the terms of the contract by results of the month.
Meanwhile, Poland is short of 30% of Russian gas amount fixed in the contract. It should be mentioned that 30-degree frost has already reached Poland.
Medvedev noted that in 2006 "Gazprom" increased gas export to Europe by 4 milliards cubic meters. Therefore, so-called daily schedules of expected gas export have been drawn. At present moment these schedules are overfulfilled. Extreme weather conditions influence demand for gas - it has increased sufficiently in the view of low temperature in Europe.
Medvedev assured that "Gazprom" executes export obligations and supplies necessary volumes of gas to the entrance of Ukrainian gas-transport system.
