The fire in Institute of General Chemistry under name of Kurnakov or Russian Academy of Science in Moscow has been extinguished.
According to Russian Emergency Ministry officials, the accident has caused no casualties.
Specialists are investigating the cause of ignition. According to preliminary data short circuit has become the cause of ignition. The seat of fire appeared in one of the cabinets on the second floor of the building.
"People were not evacuated, thought smoke formation is still observed inside", said the Russian Emergency Ministry official.
