The dimensioned reconstruction of the largest motorway in Moscow - the Leningrad avenue - starts this year. The mayor of the capital Yuriy Luzkhov reported about it today after the meeting on this subject. He underlined that all the works would be done at the expense of investors, not for budget funds.
According to his estimation the reconstruction of the avenue would be grand on its scale. Luzkhov explained that in particular on Pushkin square, where the movement at the intersection of Tverskaya street and Boulevard circle is very hard, there would be built a motor flyover without the traffic lights. This would improve the transport situation.
"A large underground parking will be built on the Triumphal square, and the square itself, which is used mostly as the car park, will be reconstructed to park. The monument to Maxim Gorkiy will be placed to its site after the reconstruction" said the mayor.
