In Karelia and Samara region cars with fishermen crashed ice
The accident took place yesterday evening on the Onega lake near Kondopoga town, informed Emergency Ministry of Karelia.

There were nine people in the cars "Moscvich" and "UAZ" returning from fishing by the frozen lake. The ice didn`t sustain the load and cracked. The driver and two passengers of "Moscvich" managed to escape the car before it wend down under the ice. As for "UAZ" passengers, two of five of them survived. Two men and a woman drowned.
All the victims lived in Kondopoga. The rescuers are searching for the bodies.
Similar accident occurred in Samara region. A car with fishermen broke the ice. One persom died.
According to the Civil Defense and Emergency Respond regional administration, there were 7 fishermen in the car, as a result of the accident one man died, other are hospitalized with the diagnosis "general supercooling".
According to the Civil Defense and Emergency Respond regional administration, the accidents occurred as ice thickness on the lake is under 7 cm.
